Heroes will be weak!
While watching the performance of their in-house beta-testers who've been quickly gaining tons of experience by hunting down the poor wolves of Shrouded Hills, the developers decided to slow down a hero's level advancement. Now we will not be able to reach the maximum level by the end of the game. This will also affect the balance and make the game even more harder. Also the problems with the widely known Alt+Tab combination have been fixed.
Download the demo...
... if you can. Since the moment the demo has been first put out on an FTP server, many of these servers went down and down. So now it's quite a fight to download the demo. While searching for not maxed out FTPs, I guess you may want to check out the TA's list. Good luck!
Arcanum delayed... again
Many people were afraid of it, many people thought it would happen, and here it is: Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura release is delayed until early September 2001. However, this delayment is caused not by a need to finish the game, but the need to make simultaneous release in all the countries where the game is published. This leaves us with empty hands, but still gives us a hope to see Arcanum this September.
P.S. 255 Mb demo-version of Arcanum will be supplied on a June 2001 Computer Gaming World issue CD-ROM. It looks like the demo won't be published anywhere else.
Technology and no magick
This is for those who have already taken the path of technology despite all the magickal influence. It's your day! The part of Terra Arcanum site devoted to the technological schematics has been recently updated with some new images and descriptions. I don't know which of these images were not yet drooled over by you, so I guess you should check them out yourself.
Arcanum Soundtrack
As you may already know, the Arcanum soundtrack has been recently published over at the official site. It's a huge amount of ones and zeros to download, so you'd better start pulling it already. If you don't like the idea about the download, you can stream it. I don't know whether it'd be nice, but you know better.
The music, as the Troika games representative said in one of the chats, was recorded with help of the zombie string quartet, that was raised especially for that purpose. As for the author, the author is Ben Houge. Ben also did some soundtracks on old quests like King's Quest 8 etc.
